We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting families and communities to go ‘plus one’ in helping them and their children thrive through our evidence informed programmes and bespoke support.

Our founders have a combination of over a hundred years of experience in supporting children, young people, their families, and communities across the North West of England. We’re passionate about utilising that experience to support children to have the best childhood possible.

Our strong, long-standing, high-trust relationships with schools, funding organisations and other agencies are built upon our unswerving focus on evidencing impact and legacy.

Kerry Burns

Managing Director

Kerry has over 25 years’ experience working in schools as a teacher, middle leader and Lead Practitioner. Passionate about helping parents/carers to support learning at home, she has designed, developed and delivered effective parental partnership programmes which offer practical tools to families of primary and secondary school children, maximising their child’s potential through effective collaboration and agency.

Kath O’Hagan

Director

With over 30 years’ experience of working in inner cities, Kath has a proven track record for bringing people together to build strong, positive relationships in and across communities, promoting community cohesion and participation. Kath is passionate about improving things that matter most to people, making a positive difference to the community she serves.

Linda Parkes

Director

Linda has a wealth of experience as our equity, diversity and inclusion lead. In her work in inner city schools over 25 years as a senior leader and SENDCo, she engages with a wide range of diverse communities, backgrounds and cultures promoting fairness and equal opportunities for all.

Mark Burns

Director

With 30 years experience in education as a teacher, author, and facilitator, Mark is invested in supporting the CIC to grow and maximise its’ impact on schools, families, communities, and children.
