Latest News: Parents Thrive with Numbers in Citywide Programme
Thanks to funding from the WEA, supported by the UK Government and Department for Education (DfE), Plus One delivered Your Time to Thrive — a dynamic six-week maths programme that empowered nearly a hundred parents in ten primary schools across Liverpool.
Designed to boost confidence with numbers and build understanding of the maths methods used in schools today, the programme helped parents reconnect with learning and support their children’s education at home.
Lisa Smalley, Project Manager at WEA, who quality assures the programmes they fund, praised it for being “genuinely inspiring,” noting that parents felt proud, engaged, and better equipped to help their children. “Kerry’s sessions were clear, relatable, and truly transformational,” she said. “They not only supported families but opened up new opportunities for parents beyond the classroom.”
WEA are a leading adult education charity with a legacy that stretches back over a hundred years, having been founded back in 1903. Their mission is to bring adult education within reach of everyone who needs it, fighting inequality and promoting social justice. Their funding seeks to empower adults by bringing great teaching to local communities across England and Scotland, reaching tens of thousands of learners each year.
