The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund has awarded a generous grant to Plus One Community Learning CIC to support families with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund is a registered charity set up in 1993 with the consent of Queen Elizabeth II to support local good causes and community initiatives located primarily within the County Palatine.

Funds from the Benevolent Fund are allocated each year to the Lieutenancy offices of Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. There is also a London Panel which considers applications from outside of the County Palatine but in areas which have a strong historic link to the Duchy and its estates. All applications must demonstrate a clear benefit to the local community.

The funding will provide families with a comprehensive booklet filled with evidence-based activities and resources to help enhance learning at home. This initiative aims to empower parents and caregivers with practical tools to support their children’s educational journey, making a meaningful difference in their lives.
